With our engaging library programs, lunchtime and after-school clubs, as well as our partnership with Girl Guides of Canada, we have crafted a comprehensive platform that harnesses the power of storytelling to nurture young minds.

Library PROGRAMS FOR AGES 4-12

ADVENTURES IN DRAMA

Aiming to unlock imaginations, this workshop is full of valuable drama games, exercises and role play activities.

AT THE BALLET

Nutcracker Experience – This program introduces creative movement, drama and beginner ballet to children through the story of the Nutcracker.

'BE YOU' Song and Dance

Participants will learn popular songs and fun choreography in this high energy program with a focus on building confidence and bringing out their inner star.

MAD ABOUT MUNSCH

Based on a different Robert Munsch story each week, this multi-session program aims to unlock imaginations through drama strategies, movement, creative exercises and role play activities.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Sing, dance and act with routines from famous Broadway Musicals.

CAMPFIRE STORIES

Your kids will love hearing campfire stories and bringing them to life, with tons of theatre based activities and fun.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

This program guides little ones to use their bodies to interpret music, stories, images and much more.

CREATIVE WRITING

Children will work alongside an established creative writer to create their very own script.

DANCING THROUGH THE DECADES

Participants will experience dance from a variety of eras. Program includes Charleston, Swing, Twist, Disco, Retro 80s, Thriller, Hip Hop, Flash Mob and Current Dance Trends.

GLOBAL DANCE PARTY

Participants will dance their way around the world as they sample music and movement from various cultures.

IMPROVISATION

This fun, active and spontaneous drama workshop utilizes improvisation exercises and theatre games to help students sharpen their ability to think quickly and work as a team.

MINDFULNESS FOR CHILDREN

This program introduces children to the concept of being mindful through experiential lessons on intention, attention, attitude and gratitude. Participants will explore ways to live in the present moment with openness and gain tools to move through their days with more joy, ease and kindness. This program is a great way to connect children to themselves and to the people around them.

STEP INTO STORIES

Gather around as a professional storyteller reads a well loved tale to your children. Children will have an opportunity to bring the story to life through dramatic exploration and activities after.

Library PROGRAMS FOR Teens

DEVISED THEATRE

Participants will work with an arts educator to build and create their own show through discussion, brainstorming, theatre games, improv, creative writing, music, movement and more. At the end of the program, participants will have a final piece to present. This is a multi-visit program.

THE DRAMA EDUCATION SERIES

This multi-visit comprehensive drama enrichment program includes instruction in Theatre Basics, Exploring Character and Physicality, Exploring Setting, Time and Space through Scene Work, Musical Theatre, How to Break Down and Perform a Monologue, Improvisation and Sketch Comedy.

IMPROV and SKETCH COMEDY

Students will learn how to structure, write and perform their own sketch alongside an experienced comedy teacher.

MONOLOGUE CAFE

This workshop immerses students into the world of monologues and helps them to make bold character choices, find specificity and shake off the nerves of performing solo.

Elements of Dance and the Creative Process

This workshop series explores body, action, space, time, energy and creating original dance sequences.

Musical Theatre Performance Program

Students will experience all aspects of dance, vocal and stage acting as they work on a pre-selected production number from the Musical Theatre repertoire.

Global Dance Series

This workshop series celebrates culture and diversity through dance.

Behind the Scenes - Master Classes

This workshop series give students an opportunity to experience what goes into the making of a theatre or film production behind the scenes. Sessions include: playwriting, stage management, choreography, film direction, theatre direction, production, set design, costume design, dramaturge, arts administration, make up design and casting.

Mindful Movement and Creative Visualization

This program is a great way to connect students to themselves and to the people around them as part of a healthy pandemic recovery plan. Participants attending this workshop will experience evidence-based breathing and visualization techniques to reduce stress, increase self-awareness and decrease anxiety. Participants will learn how to ground their breath, centre themselves and shift their emotions in a positive way.

Creating Community through Drama

This workshop connects participants and strengthens social skills using theatre games, improvisations and group drama strategies in a safe and inclusive environment. The ultimate goal is to engage imagination, concentration and sensory awareness while exploring behaviour, ideas, creativity and community.

This fun, active and spontaneous workshop utilizes improvisation exercises and theatre games to help students sharpen their ability to think quickly and work as a team. Students will gain confidence, take risks and tap into creative humour.

PUTTING YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD

In this fun and empowering workshop, students will increase their self-confidence through drama. We’ll tackle the toughest parts of speaking in front of others and explore the importance of body language. Teachers have reported a significant improvement in their students’ public speaking skills after taking part in this workshop.

LUNCHTIME and AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Simplify Enrichment: Affordable and Effortless Lunchtime and After-School Clubs. Our lunchtime and after-school clubs are affordable and hassle-free. All you need to do is supply the space — it doesn’t have to be a gym — and distribute our registration materials. We handle all parent questions and payments directly (if you wish) and oversee in-school supervision. All sessions are 6 to 12 weeks in duration.

The Travelling Stage embraces Guiding’s empowering ethos, creating a secure all-girl space for self-discovery, friendship, and impactful growth. Our commitment extends to aiding girls in badge completion, offering both in-person and online programs aligned with Guide badge requirements. Personally driven by our Director and Founder Toni Grates’ transformative Girl Scout journey, we are dedicated to fostering individual voices and a lifelong love for learning.

Hip Hop (I, V)

Guides will immerse themselves in Hip Hop dance alongside a professional dancer.

Fairy Tale Experience (V)

Guides will be greeted by a surprise Fairy Tale character, who will engage in song, dance and dramatic play with them. We encourage children to dress in costume!

Storytime Ballet (I, V)

An enchanting experience taught by a professional dancer that combines ballet with childhood literature. Guides will learn basic ballet.

Dancing through the Decades (I, V)

Guides will learn dance styles and moves from various decades including Swing, Disco, Retro 80s, Old School Hip Hop, Flash Mob, Current Trends and more!

Yoga is for Every'BODY' (I, V)

This completely secular ongoing yoga program introduces children to yoga in a safe and inclusive way.

Guides on Broadway (I, V)

Guides will learn music and dance from the musical of your troupe's choice alongside an established North American theatre performer.

Mindfulness for Children (I, V)

This secular program introduces guides to the concept of being mindful through experiential lessons on intention, attention, attitude and gratitude.

Global Dance Club (I, V)

Guides will travel around the globe through music and movement in this energetic, engaging and imaginative program!

Princess Storytelling and Tea Party (V)

Guides will sign on and be greeted by a Fairy Tale princess, who will engage in dramatic play with them through storytelling and a tea party. We encourage guides to dress up in costume if they'd like.

CAMPFIRE STORIES (I, V)
