FAQs

How long have you been around and who do you work with?

The Travelling Stage was established in 2002. We currently work with over 1000 schools and childcare centres across 36 school boards in North America both in person and virtually. As of 2020, we also work with students in Mexico, England, South Korea, China, Singapore and Israel.

What grades do you provide workshops to?

We offer quality dance, drama and music programming for preschool through grade 12.

What makes you different than the other companies out there?

All of our dance and drama instructors are guest artists with extensive credits, who are currently working in the entertainment industry. Our roster includes well known performers from TV, Film, Stratford, Shaw, Broadway, National Tours, Second City, Cruise Ships and a variety of stages across North America. Our roster and instruction is second to none.

Money is tight at my school. Do your in school workshops include any “extras”?

All of our workshops include an organized end of day presentation, a detailed teacher resource guide showing the curriculum covered (which teachers can use for evaluation purposes) and a rubric to help you get that report card mark!

How much do your workshops cost?

We know that arts funding is sometimes hard to come by and we do everything we can to keep our costs affordable. Our fees range from $50.00 – $250.00 per program, depending on duration and number of students attending. Financial assistance is also available for schools in need. Connect with us for a comprehensive pricing guide.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?

Our Head Office is just outside Toronto, Canada, but we work with schools, centres and families worldwide.

How many students can you teach at a time?

We can teach up to 2 full classes, but we always remind schools that less students means more individualized instruction.

Do you follow the Arts Curriculum?

Yes, we do. Our team includes several educational consultants, including certified teachers and school principals who have helped us to develop programming according to the Arts Curriculum.

I’m interested in hosting a lunch time program at my school. How does that work and what does it cost?

Our club programs are affordable and hassle free. All you need to do is supply the space (it doesn’t have to be a gym!) and distribute our registration materials. We handle all parent questions and payments directly (if you wish) and oversee in school supervision. All sessions are 6-8 weeks long and students receive a certificate of achievement at the end.

Does The Travelling Stage carry insurance? What about police checks?

TThe Travelling Stage is a fully incorporated company and carries $5 million dollars in liability and accident insurance. All of our guest artists and instructors are required to complete vulnerability sector screenings to work with us.
